In this case the client came to us with a very specific need. He is a small business owner with a home office with a composite conference table that works for his office meetings. However, when he hosts dinner parties, he clears the room and uses it as a dining table. Typically he puts a table cloth to cover the other table.

What he wanted us to build for him is a removable top that could connect in the center and cover his existing table, which was a 70" hexagon. So we decided to build him a 72" hexagon that could pull apart in the center and be stored elsewhere. After a visit to our showroom, he decided that he wanted to mix oak and walnut. We did 25% oak, 50% walnut, then 25% oak, so the entire piece is mirrored, and symmetrical. It came out great with a Rubio oil finish.
