This was an incredible build. The bed was completely custom designed with the client after a home visit and multiple phone calls and finally a CAD. There is a full cabinet construction on the inside to allow for two heavy solid maple sliding drawers. The nightstands have drawers and are essentially "floating". Headboard is mounted to the wall for extra support. The bed is rock solid. 10 people could jump up and down on the platform. It has a dark espresso stain which has a hint of deep deep purple, and three coats of a poly whey finish which is very dull and almost naked. It is our favorite finish to put on pine. We delivered and installed It was about a four hour reconstruction and install.
Don't mind the blue tape. The clients had not yet selected drawer pulls.
