Dark Stained Oak Pedestal Table

Because we make all our furniture to order after a thorough design process, here at Cannon Hill we can tailor every aspect of our work to the relevant specifics of each project. Our clients on this one were after a deep, dark color that would come to a full, consistent appearance but also preserve the grain and texture of the material. After all, when you’re going to the effort and expense of building — and buying — solid wood furniture you want to be able to tell what it is.

Color manipulation of real, solid wood furniture can be a tricky process. No two pieces are exactly the same, and countless factors can have effects on how the finish can turn out. We go to considerable lengths to demonstrate the various options that we offer, beginning with a library of samples in our showroom, and extending to mailing out samples.

The deep, dark stain that we applied to this oak table was the result of Cannon Hill’s “custom color” program. We’ve developed a system of finish and stain samples that allow our clients to narrow down the options until they’ve found just the right one. We offer color manipulation in two essential formats, tinted oils and stains.

This table is finished in Cannon Hill’s signature 2K urethane spray finish, our choice for projects that are likely to be subject to substantial wear and tear. Our in-house spray finishers mix and apply the two-part, matte product right here in our Roxbury workshop for each piece of furniture. The spray-on urethane offers the ultimate in protection and durability, ensuring the beauty of the furniture for years to come.
